‘Skin boosters’ are an injectable treatment that is designed to deliver deep skin hydration. They’re also sometimes referred to as injections for skin quality, as they promote a natural glow and radiance.
This is a relatively new treatment concept which has become a lot more popular over the last few years. It particularly appeals to patients who want to look fresh and natural with their anti-ageing treatments.
Skin booster results don’t have the dramatic impact that can be associated with the better known non-surgical treatments. They don’t ‘freeze’ the features or stop muscle movement (like BOTOX® can), although they can help to smooth out lines and wrinkles. They won’t deliver exaggerated or over-inflated results like dermal fillers can, although they can add more subtle volume by gently plumping the skin.

PROFHILO
Profhilo is an injectable anti-ageing treatment made from hyaluronic acid for skin that is losing its elasticity and firmness with age. It can be used on the face, neck, decollete, arms, hands and knees, or any part of your body where the skin shows visible signs of ageing. There is an immediately noticeable improvement in skin tone, hydration as well as firmness, and lines are minimized.
Hyaluronic acid is best known as a ‘filler’ and is usually used to give volume to lips or to contour other areas of the face. Profhilo differs from the usual fillers in a number of ways due to its structure which allows it to flow over an extended area to boost hydration and smooth or ‘remodel’ the skin.

Does it hurt?Dermal fillers are administered with a needle; therefore, this involves a degree of discomfort. However, we ensure this procedure is as pain-free as possible with topical anaesthetic, effective products with lidocaine and advanced injection techniques. Some areas may be more sensitive than others, such as lips, however well-tolerated.

Are there any side effects?Due to the nature of injectable treatments, there is a possibility of some minor side effects, most of which subside up two-four weeks after treatment. Common side effects include: Mild swelling and bumps. Localised tenderness. Skin blemish or bruising. General sensitivity and redness. Any potential side effects will be discussed during your consultation. How long do Dermal Fillers Last?Most hyaluronic acid dermal fillers tend to fall within the 6 to 18-month range, however, the expected longevity of your fillers will also vary from person to person. Here’s a general ‘rule of thumb’ when it comes to filler longevity: Lip Filler: 6-9 months Nasolabial Folds 9-12 months Marrionette Lines ( smokers lines) 9 -12 months The exact longevity might change based on the volume of filler used, the precise areas being treated as well as the patient’s metabolism and lifestyle. In the case of Lips, sometimes a number of treatments are required to attain the ideal lip shape and size.
